Another C6 question

Ok knuckle heads....what holds the kickdown rod on the shaft? I know a e-clip but what else? There's too much space for just a e-clip I'm thinking some kind of grommet and where can I get one or some at. Mine when I bought it had some wire rapped around it......

Mine has grommets. If you want I'll grab some pics tomorrow.

Rip it out, burn it all, and replace it with a ZF 5 Speed.
