Aint no normal truck...whats it worth? (with pics)

Hey guys, long story short my neighbor several years ago bought this van/truck(see pics) thing to use for his lawn business. Year later he took it apart to paint it, he never finished, got tired of it and gave it to me the "neighborhood fix anything kid" to finish. I finaly got the whole thing painted and mostly put back together ready to sell. Had a guy over the other day who I am restoring an old landcruiser for who said he was interested in it when it dawned on me I have no idea what to ask for it. I would like to sell it and not get ripped off and give a some of the $$$ back to the neighbor who gave it to me to help him out.

Anyway I think it is an 83 econoline 350 van with the rear of an F350 dualy, it has a 6.9 IDI in it and a C6 trans, odometer sais 68k but who knows how many times it has rolled over. It starts VERY easily even after sitting for several months, smokes blue for a minute after startup then runs clean. It's not too pretty inside, I put new carpet on the floor but the rest still looks kinda rough. The outside is dirty from sitting since I painted it but it looks fine after a wash.

Anyway, can you guys steer me in the ballpark of what to ask for it? Can't exactly check kelly blue book.

If you get it cleaned up a little bit more you will probably find a contractor that would snatch that up. I see a lot of potential in that setup.

Man I like that , not pretty but sure has lots of space inside the cab add a manual tranny to it and would be a sweet ride plus the vans have better steering on My opinion yet don't know it would make much of a difference with a drw behind. I have so many things on My table right now I can't make a move but that thing is gooood

If it is running and the conversion is not a cheapo one i would guess 5-6k but the area where You live makes the price vary a lot.

that would the the ticket for a friend of mime. He's got a wife in a wheelchair and that would easily accommodate a wheelchair lift. If it's ok with you, I'm going to zap him a couple of the pics in a email.

as for price.......in your opinion, how usefull is it? is it mechanically in good condition? you have to think, by looking at it, the person interested isnt looking for something with an outstanding interior, but usefullness. blue book the van portion of it to give you some start, then i would either add on to it if you think its better than that, or go less if you dont think its that good.

sorry for probably stating the obvious, but something like that, thats not in the best shape visually, its hard to give a price.

Thats a pretty unique truck, I have seen a couple of those running around here in Florida but they are usually beat to crap. Funny thing is that I saw an old f350 crewcab today that had the bed removed and the rear of an old econoline fan added in place of the bed. It was all sorts of mixed colors with about a dozen antennas, hugh mirrors and lights hanging off of every mirror. If I wasnt working I would have taken a picture off it.

If I had the money Id give a couple thousand for it. But it would have to be mechanically sound.

Its worth what someone will pay for it, but to me I'd say its worth $4500 assuming excellent condition, so many potential uses for that thing! That said it may be hard to get that, are you sure its in great shape? Can you prove it? Its not going to get much fuel economy with a C6 and probably 4.10s

Well sounds like around $4k would be a good starting point. Never said it was in great shape, the engine runs good and the paint looks good but the interior is needs some finishing, has some wiring mess to clean up as well, lots of dead end wires and the battery drains if left connected. I think my neighbor paid $5k for it a few years back but the AC worked then and the interior, though finished very ugly, was complete.

I would agree with 3500 to 4K price range The old Centurions, or Cabriolets are a little more popular but are still hard to find.

That thing is awesome... if still structurally sound. Would be too long for any city stuff though.
