Aftermarket wastegate any good? See Picture !

I bought an 093 turbo kit off of this sure from another member merely for the 3" ats housing and down pipe .... It came with a rebuilt turbo with 20,000 on it with almost no shaft play .... I'm debating on going ahead and using it but I also have a brand new (not rebuilt) 093 in the box... The rebuilt charger has an aftermarket style wastegate wity just a rod and a spring .... Kinda like a similar setup harts does for the gm 6.5 diesel.... Have you guys ever seen anything like this? Owner claimed it would make 15-18 psi of boost .....

Yes, the 093 will push 20psi given enough fuel. Mine did it with a stock IP.

Dyoung made you tube video of it and one with his tach damn near buried.lots of us watched them a few times. Idk maybe a bad boost gauge...but he tried with two of them with the same results

I'm not trying to start any drama, but Dyoung kinda proved himself to not be the most trustworthy of members.

Wow... Thats not going to work at all. Heres why. Look at the oem one on the bottom. As boost increases the pressure acts on the diaphram in the canister. The pressure overcomes the spring in the canister so it pushes the wastegate open allowing exhaust gas to bypass the hot wheel of the turbo... So the top for lack of a better term WASTEGATE actually is not... It holding the gate closed at all times. Someone didn't know whats going in internally in the hot side of the turbo. The hot exhaust does not open the gate... The boost applied to the canister opens the gate. Kinda funny looking "wastegate" too. Clearly a home made item. No wonder someone could make so mush boost.

Here's a pic guys...
You must be registered for see images attach

I think that it could work, it is basically like the "turbomaster" that they sell for the 6.5 stuff.

I dont see any reason to use it though, the factory wastegate stuff works pretty good and can be modded to do pretty much what ever you want.

The reason for this style for the 6.5 stuff is to get rid of the stupid vacuum wastegate stuff
