The pump I had turned into my moose pump for my brown truck was a brand new 7.3 pump just like that one. bought it from a closed down Ford dealer, was still in the original Ford box when I got it. I didn't give nearly that for my pump.
Would be interesting to know if that is a New Old Stock pump or a true New pump.

irregardless if it was a NOS or a "new" pump, it's for a IH "S" chassis. I.E. you're at 2800 rpm governed speed.

I've driven with one of those IH spec pumps on my Ford, it was loaned from a frend of mine. It was.....interesting, fueling and timing curve were very different. I had 4.10s and a C6 in those days. No matter how hard I pushed it the truck would absolutely not go over 71. With the typical 3350 governed ump I could hit 82. The torque peaks sooner. Notice the spec is for 155HP, it probably doesn't make anywhere near what a Ford pump does in terms of peak HP. You could Moose it, but you'd still have hundreds of dollars in labor from Mel's guy, you'd probably want to bump the limit up to Ford spec at least. Might be a great buy for someone with a School Bus or S- series but not so much for one of us. BTW reman is just as good as brand new as far as I'm concerned if the remanufacturer is Mel's guy or someone else who knows his stuff and really cares and you start with a good core. Neat but there are cheaper ways to do this.

Funny this came up. I have brand new 6.9 S Series pump that became surplus when the local school bus garage got rid of the last 6.9. What I realy wonder is hom many hard parts (throttle shaft / lever for one) it would take to convert it to pickup specs. If the head / rotor and major parts of the governor were the same it might be worth it.

I would be concerned about the seals being dried up after sitting all these years. When is the last time they actually made new ones? 15 years ago?

I forget where I found them but some place online had new pumps. Ones that were not remanufactured. I think they were brand new but I can't say for sure. One thing I do remember was the price was well over a grand for them.

Mine is not an IH pump, mine was a Ford spec 7.3 pump. It was ordered by Ford and they never installed it. But yes the seals were dried out in it. It didn't matter in the end because its a Moose pump now, they have their own governed RPM and they get a full rebuild.
