99 6.5td white smoke?????????

99 sub starts fine seems to run ok so here is the story cold start no smoke warms up a little and the smoke starts looks like water comming from the tailpipe but no smell of coolant op temp and smoke goes away until i stomp on it to pass and i get a whiteish grey cloud of smoke but no smoke at cruising rpm or at idle when warm.could it be head gasket or injector problems ???

topped up the coolant didnt need much also changed the fuel filter ,still smoked on start up smoke did not smell of coolant

head gasket I doubt..
it would smoke like a m/f when it got warmed up..
injector yeah, could be..
might be sucking a slight bit of air into the fuel as well.

glow plugs?

cant make it smoke when i go to pass but read somewhere that if glow plugs are not hot can make smoke noticed the "wait to start" light flickers a bit after start up

glow plugs I'd go for too, but not warmed up..
they run 4sec on, then 4sec off or until the PCM sees a crank signal, then it runs them in 1.5 sec on, 1.5 sec off for like 30 seconds.

They do this for smoke control.

looks like i need some glow plugs would you have a brand or type to suggest and any tips this i smy 1st diesel
