Hey all, slightly off topic from diesel but I couldn't think where else to post.

Does anyone know how well a 97+ canopy will fit on an OBS bed? I'm finding lots of tasty looking canopies for 97+, not so much for the 1970~-1996 beds.

Tia!

99+ on OBS will sort of work. The back is a little too narrow and the front a little too wide for the OBS straight bed sides, but you can make it work.

Excuse me, I thought 97 the year changed. Specifically it's a 97 canopy.

It seems like it will fit, which makes us happy campers!
97 was the first year of the 10th gen F-150's, but the F-250 and 350 were still the old body style. Ford really knows how to make things confusing for the parts counter LOL

Jasper, you're right. They were available during the 1996 model year. They were still called a 1997 model though. I remember seeing my first one on a lot in January of 1996. That's well before the new model year usually begins. Kind of like the 1999 Superdutys were available during the 1998 model year and were called a 1999 model. Now that's really confusing.

Always doing goofy stuff. Lol
I just remember my FIL had a 96. Usually when they come out early like that, they are still the following model year.

amazingly huge!

we almost felt like we were stealing it at $400, keys and all - practically no use.

obviously a custom job, aluminum skin and skeleton, looks like MIG with flux welded together - i'll forgive the manufacturer for that part, not using a shielding gas. haha score!

Haha, this is like our manna from heaven - we are changing gears in our life, and this canopy is a large part of that. Not for sale!! :p
