96 psd 250 5spd wont start

has or had ts 6 posistion switch on it. went to get onto interstate n kicked the switch up to get up to speed then turned it back to economy. 2 miles up the road after that i got a dead pedal, would idle but bogged pushing the pedal. pulled over n shut it off but hasnt started since. had replaced hpop with used one 2k miles ago. unpluged pedal still nothing, repalced icm and pcm got a little smoke either from starter or back of turbo but didnt try to fire. no down pipe on it now so who knows where the little haze of white smoke came from. truck has 250k miles on it. any help would be great.

Is the nut on the back of the IPR still there and is it tight?

yes, swaped a running trucks ipr into it and still nothing

Cam sensor? Is the tach bouncing? Have you tried unplugging the IP sensor in the drivers side head so it will go to default values in the PCM
for the HUEI pressures? Another simple yet stupid question - have you checked the oil level?...I have seen 466 powered trucks come on the hook because they were too low on oil to fire the injectors....

ill have to check all that, but im certain its got oil. checked the hpop reservoir too. hope its somethin stupid and not another hpop or injectors...

I hear ya, I always go for the cheap/simple stuff first.

check fuses, make shure the fuel heater didnt short out

tach came off peg, new cam sensor, unpluged ip sensor, and still nothing. guess ill push it into the garage for the winter and pull it all apart. have another motor to throw in it.

Get a decent hyd pressure gauge and some o-ring boss fits to screw into the head to see what the HUEI pressure is while cranking - if you don't see atleast 400psi it won't start....500 or higher is desired.

it was dragged a couple times when it happened so if it didnt get to +400 psi at 1.5k rpm its gota be electrical... dont have a scan tool, or trailer.
