Do you have a tap/die set? Most sets have a square socket to use with the taps that will do a fine job on that plug, even if it is really tight. That has worked for me in the past. I don't trust a little, tiny end wrench on that square head.

another suggestion on the pipe plug when i did mine was a real bear to get out found an old nut threaded it onto plug and then welded it put a socket on it and came right out just my 2 cents

What exhaust housing are you running on the HX35? Im guessing a 12cm since thats stock on most of them, an H1C with a 12cm housing sans wastegate is going on mine so im interested to see how this turns out.

the stock is a 60 16, the modded hx is a 62 18.

I would have done the welding trick for that plug, it was my first thought BUT, i just moved into my new house and I havent got a plug with enough juice to run the welder or plasma. its next on the list of chores to do though.

Im thinkin a 12 would spool much better, depends on your ultimate boost goal and whether you leave the wastegate or not.

Don't you mean stock 54/56 and modded 60?

I'm just questioning your wheel sizes. I'm not trying to be technical, trying to get the facts right.

Here is some pics. not done yet, yesterday was a pain, i had to run around to get some fittings so I could hook up the oil feed line, I ended up tapping at the oil cooler instead of the far rear cuz that plug is now permanently part of the block. the up pipe and down pipe are in and it appears my engine is sitting as far back on the frame as possible so it is really tight back there, even with the metal i cut out.
