Hey y'all come put new motor mounts in my f250 recently because they nuked themselves. I'm dropping the engine back down and ran into a hell of a problem. The engine seems to have moved forward about an inch, so the trans mount and engine mounts won't mount in the correct location. I was hoping a crowbar in between the trans mount and the crossmember would be enough to drag it back, but I forgot this engine weighs like a thousand pounds . Anybody got any good suggestions for getting it back in place? Thanks!

Compare old and new parts first...
Yes. There is a right and left side for the motor mounts. If you put them on backwards, that may have caused to difference in engine placement. I can't say for sure since I've never tried it.

I have in my hand a trans mount for my truck that I did not put in yet until my original is completely bad.

Pioneer # 622448.

The mount-to-transmission attachment holes are offset.

When I used to do a lot of transmission R&R I noticed that Ford would mark the mounts occaisionally...It was pretty nice of them...REAR in large letters would appear on a lot of truck and van mounts.

Sometimes the trans crossmember could be turned around to get different drivelines to line up as well...although with yours being 4x4 it probably only goes in one way.

Take another look at things all around...It could have been worked on before and altered.

Hope this helps..

Hey John_piv...did you ever get the mounts straight in your truck..?

I have been carrying this trans mount around for weeks...finally got tired of doing everything left-handed...and put a lanyard around it and hung it from my neck...but the Girl is griping a little and wanting me to put it back in the box.

Not really....

Just wondering what it took to get things straightened out...

Have a great day !!
