Hey y'all, had a motor mount grenade itself about a week ago and I'm trying to get new ones put in this weekend. I've got the four large bolts underneath through the cross member removed along with the two trans bolts that go through the crossmember. When trying to lift the engine with a crane from the front, it lifts the whole truck instead of just the engine. Are there more bolts that I'm missing? Or am I doing something wrong?

If it is completely unbolted it will only lift the truck to the point the suspension is unloaded. If it is picking the tires up then you definitely missed unbolting something.

realize that engine weights in at like 1000#
STRONG ROPE around exhaust manifold.
jack on lower block web.
put lifting eye on the side of the block in question.

I'm trying to use a towing chain on the stock lift points on the manifold bolts. Is that not the right spot?

Haven't pulled the tires off the ground yet, but it does seem to lift about 4 in. How much travel has that suspension got before it clears?

If you cannot get access to the mount lifting wherever you are. Then no.
You need to lift so the eng tilts away from the frame rail.
Be careful about what you do, this should be easy to navigate.
If you goof up it could be bad.
Post a pic, so we can try and guide you through this?

Realize that the lift points are for level carrying when slung onto BOTH pickup points, square to the ground, not tilted.
One side bolted down still is anchoring it down.
