About a month ago my F350 7.3 power stroke absolutely quit right in the middle of driving is if you shut the key of the vehicle off. I had it towed to a shop they replaced the fuel filter and it appeared to be running good. Once I picked it up I drove it for 15 to 20 minutes and once again ran perfectly fine and all the sun shut off immediately and then wouldn’t start. Once we had it towed and that it had cooled down it started right up. But if you let it sit there and run for about 15 to 20 minutes it shuts off. So they replaced the cam sensor directly from Ford and it did the same thing it didn’t fix anything with that. Next they replaced the I believe it’s the high-pressure oil sensor up on top at the fuel rail and last night it idled for about an hour which it had never done that before so we thought that it was fixed. The mechanic from the shop decided to take it home just to see and 10 minutes into his drive it died once again. They’re saying that basically with the 7.3 power stroke it’s usually one of three things we tried the least expensive routes. The cam sensor. The high-pressure oil switch. They’re saying that we should replace the HPOP. Has anyone else had any experience with anything like this? If so if you got it fixed how was it that you got it fixed.
