I'm going to drive my ext cab 86 f250 but was planning on putting the motor out of the sc lb in the bed of my truck to get it timed

NO, you can't time an IP unless the engine can be running.

If you do take that engine in the bed of the truck, for Gods sake, be sure and tie it down real good, unless you want it along side or you in the cab, a quick stop will put it there. That could be a 1000 lb missel.

Did you drive it home ? If you did, what did it run like - smoke at all, what colour, acceleration etc. ?
Looks to be a darn good buy - good for you.

I have plenty of experience transporting motor but thank you for the heads up... And I haven't decided if I'm going to get it running and sell it or get the parts I need and sell the rest or just keep it lol... Only tricky part is we are moving in 6 months and have 3 trucks now and a car haha

These e3ngines will run but they will run very poorly with the timing 180 degrees out. In other words the person that installed the injection pump removed the pump, gear and cover as one piece. Then had no idea what they were doing and installed the dot mark to the Y mark. There you have 180 degrees out of time but a running engine. Ask the dog catcher bout this..

the Prunedale truck.
I was going to go after that thing this afternoon.
btw Ford designates the ext cab trucks as "supercabs" or SC you might want to refer to Reg cab or RC in the future :D

Sorry man... It was too good of a deal to pass up
you'll find there's a group of IDI vultures in the SFBA (me included) who sometimes give the seller the wrong impression they have something of value when we all inadvertently call on the same truck.
