1986 A/C-Heater air flow, not right

I put a shutoff valve on my heater hose in order to block off flow in the summer

until I had time to take my dash apart to fix things...I had a designated pair of vise-grips clamping off the hose...

later I forgot where the tool was...and then spent some time looking for it when I needed it for something else...

typical...
