Light rain and towing the usual aluminum 20' trailer @ 70+ MPH.
Came to a 7% hill and decided to lean on it.
Started out by locking out overdrive and allowing the converter to lock up before th hill. Speed was about 70.
As I came to the hell I gradually increased power untill I passed 75. Boost was at about 9 PSI with the converter still locked. Usually, it only gives about ~6.5
Then I floored it an the converter unlocked allowing for maximum RPM and boost. Right away it went to 12 PSI and by the time I was at the top it was 13PSI. EGTs seem to hit a wall at 900, wouldn't go higher for anything. Topped out at about 82 MPH on the hill, then backed off at the crest. Simply slowing down to 70 was enough to bring the EGTs back to the normal 600-700.
It was raining, so I wasn't able to see any smoke. On dry days I noticed it seems to run fairly clean though. Fuel screw is bottomed out.
Even when pulling away from a few stoplights, I was able to just touch 10 PSI even in first gear. Usually 5 is the limit there.
Maybe I was wrong about my setup, because it did pretty good today. Wonder what a moose pump would do.....
