Getting ready to buy a house in a few weeks as our landlord is needing us to move out so he can have family there. We were hoping to go the USDA route but since the Tryon International Equestrian Center opened up a couple of years ago, just about all the houses have been bought. We are hoping...

Need suggestions jacking truck up on an incline in mud.

I need some new ideas on how to keep the truck up so I can be under it removing the coil brackets. The problem is that I’m on the side of a hill and even though I have an engine hoist, 4 jack stands on pavers, and my jack under it everything is sinking in the mud and shifting over. This last...

    Shock bolts

I’m getting ready to purchase some bolts to install shocks on my project but not find much info online for what I need. The truck is a 1985 F350 with no shock mounts. I’m going to take the shock mounts off a 1987 F250 frame and put them in this. The rear axle is a sterling 10.25 from a 1989...

    Hub centric or lug centric?

My axles are from ‘88 and ‘91 on my f350 and I’m trying to find out if they are lug or hub centric. I thought ford switched some time in the 80’s as these have the flat lug nuts but from what I can find online, it’s showing it was in ‘98 when they went metric. Can someone please enlighten me...

    Deciding on new tires

I’m getting ready to order a set of 6 315/75r16 mud tires for my lifted ‘85 F350 DRW. I’ve hade good luck with Federal Couragias,Dick Cepeck Extreme Country MTs, and Americus MTs on my past SRW trucks. Right now I’m considering either Patriot tires from Omni or Ironman tires. I’m wanting to...

    7.3, E40D, and T-case

    Are these rusty rotors ok?

I’m swapping my Dana 60 off a parts truck over to my 2wd project truck. I’m going ahead and getting new calipers and pads but not sure if I will even be able to remove these rotors. There is almost no wear on them so I’m guessing they were still new when the truck was parked. Do y’all think...

    New vs used fan clutch

My fan clutch is completely locked up on my 1993 f350 7.3. I do have a 1985 6.9 idi engine for parts but don’t know whether I should use the fan off it or just go ahead and buy a new one. How much resistance should the fan have with engine off to know whether it’s any good or not?

    Thermostat housing

So... I found that the PO has filled that hole in the thermostat housing with RTV for a reason. The coolant is now bypassing the thermostat. The thermostat housing is no longer available at parts stores or through a ford dealership so I’ll have to pull one off one of my parts trucks. I read...

    Stuck on water pump change

My water pump went out in my 1993 F350. I finally made it back home and now have the pump, thermostat, etc. The nut for my fan clutch is seized and I can’t seem to hold the pulley still enough to hammer it off. I’ve sprayed it with kroil, tried renting the pulley tool from auto zone, using a...

    Who buys cores?

Since I’ve had no luck parting out my unneeded parts from my 3 parts trucks, does anybody know who buys cores? I have everything from blocks, to IPs, injecters, brake boosters, AC compressors and the list goes on. I know I won’t make as much as if I parted them out but the budget is tight...

Why does my truck take so long to fill at the pump?

My 1993 F350 idi takes forever to fill at the pump and I can barely squeeze the handle without it overflowing. I had to use a gas can the other day and had the same issue. It does it with both tanks. Is there a filter screen or a vent I need to check or is that just the way these truck are?

    Broke on side of road!!!

My ‘93 f350 idi stalled on me and now won’t even try to turn over. My wife is on the way with my tool bag so I can check the fuses. Battery level and all fluid levels are good. If all the fuses end up being good, any suggestions? Apparently AAA considers an F350 a motorhome class lol!

    odometer reading?

I traded my dodge along with some cash for this 1993 F350 4x4 7.3 N/A automatic. It runs great but I need to replace the front bearings/ball joints at some point and flush the brake lines. The odometer shows just under 70,XXX miles. I don’t think it could be the actual mileage but do these...

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

This is my first thread on Oil burners. Let me start off by saying I don’t need a DRW, I just have always loved the look of them. I know the extra cost and pain they are but it is worth it to me. Now that we got that out of the way, onward! Earlier this year I picked up a 1985 crew cab...
