1986 f250 6.9, red interior. The truck run when it landed in this spot, fuel system issues, as usual AC doesn't work. Front end rebuild about 5k ago, no parts complete truck only $1000 cash feel free to email any questions. Truck is in south TX.
I was thinking about putting a 38 gal tank in the back where the spare tire usually is. The tanks I keep finding for my 86 f250 keep saying gas only. So what's the difference in the tanks? Can I use a tank that's for gas in a diesel application?
Update, turned out the fuel pump was weak and not supplying enough pressure to the IP. I put a $30 pump on it and it ran great, hot starts great also. I dodged an expensive repair. Thanks for all the input!

Ok I know this is most likely a repeated question but I haven't been able to find an answer so I thought I would just ask...
This truck starts and runs great when it's cold but after it's warmed up and turned off it won't start or it's really hard to start. If it cools off it starts.

TRANS SWAP C6 to ZF
I could use some help and a lot of info on how to swap out my C6 and replace it with the ZF. Is this a straight forward swap or a real big PIA? I use to turn wrenches for a living so there is very little I won't tackle. The truck is an 86 f250 6.9l.
Ok so it looks like this conversion is the easiest way to get the OD. I haven't run across any bolt in autos that will do it. Any suggestions as to the easiest way to do this? Junk yard?
My truck is an 86 with a 6.9, auto with a 5:13 rear end as far as i can tell. It is screeming at 65mph. So...
Trans swap or rear end work? The tag on the rear end shows 5:13 if i read it correctly??? I work the truck so i dont want to loose the towing power, this truck runs stong! Any suggestions?
Im looking to change out the auto behind my 6.9l, any idea if this will bolt up? If so i would need to track down all the the other parts to do the conversion.

I am looking for information on head gaskets for my 6.9, I think it has a leak on the passenger side front. It's really hard to tell due to the location. It seems to be an inconsistant leak at the moment so for now I am just educating myself. Any suggestions...
I'm not sure if this is the place for this but...
I started rebuilding the front end of my 86 f250 and I am not completely sure of how to reinstall the king pins and associated shims. The kit also includes a small seal and flat bearing, I think it goes, bearing on bottom, shim on top and seal...
Ok guys I'm rebuilding the front end on my 86 f250 6.9. I'm looking for suggestions as to where to buy parts. My local auto part stores don't have them so any suggestions would be helpful.

 I'm just looking for opinions on Diesel Mags. Anybody have any favorites or is one better than the other, let me know what you think?
Thanks For the info, I have herd from just about everybody what a bit** it is to put one of these kits on. I have to replace tires very soon so I figured a lager tire and small lift kit might kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Still gathering info thanks, again...:cool
