7.3 idi with hypermax turbo set up installed. I’m having a problem building boost if it’s hot out side. It’s almost like it’s not getting enough cold air into the turbo for it spool the correct way. When it’s cooler out, like first thing in the morning it spools great. Later on during the day when it’s hot out I can’t seem to get the boost levels. What can I do to get my boost levels back up.

Your pump is most likely wearing out, when they get hot the tolerances open up and they don’t flow the volume they would when cold, you can remedy this by turning the fuel up more, but you will have higher egts and possibly more smoke when cold.

Disconnect your Cold Timing Advance and see if that affects your boost. My hypermax turbo spools up at a specific timing (4.5 deg BTDC), and if I move it to anything above 6 deg, my turbo almost never spools up. I have a van kit, so your optimal timing might be different.

Maybe when you are running your engine when it's cold, maybe your cold timing is optimal for spooling. Once the engine warms, the Cold Timing Advance disables, and it bumps you into a less optimal timing. Just a theory.

I agree with worn pumps perform worse when hot. I’m no scientist but I have a theory too lol. My truck is n/a and smokes a lot when it’s hot out side and barely any in extreme cold. Hot air has less o2 so less fuel is burnt and more smoke is produced. Maybe your igniting less fuel which would lower exhaust gas volume? I could believe 2-3psi loss on a 95* day compared to a 20* day

My truck will hardly smoke when it’s hot. It tends to smoke more when it’s colder out. My IP was turned up a little from the previous owner. Is it possible it’s moved?

Did I miss it somewhere. What boost levels are you producing? Do a test like up a hill cold motor hot motor and or cold day hot day. Without a intercooler once above 10 -12 boost it takes more power to make boost than your engine puts out (my thoughts).

With that said, I’d lean more towards a worn IP. Is it ever hard to start when the engine is warm but starts fine when cool?

I seriously doubt that the fuel adjustment could change on it's own. The injector pump timing will retard itself as the pump internals wear. You could try to advance the timing by turning the pump slightly (about 1/16") towards the passenger's side. It may be a Band Aid for a while, but not a permanent fix for a worn pump.
