the tricks were
tipping the filler side higher than the ditch side to help airflow, driving up onna 2x6 block to do the same, and rocking the bed ( which don't really help)
Mine will now let me use the class 8 truck fillers, just cut out the stupid flapper thing

I agree. Death to the flapper thing sounds like a viable option. I’m not sure if it has one cuz I can’t see anything in there.

I can't find the one that has a guy settin on top of a 4' square tank with a cutting torch ...
You can clearly see the small ignition events occurring, he just keeps on cutting....

I’m not sure you guys are getting the full picture. It will only accept the equivalent of weak flow peeing in the filler neck
Believe me I understand, mine is bad enough that I can only fill up certain places. Most places the pumps put out enough pressure that you can't squeeze the handle easy enough to get it started without tripping immediately.

Some stations are extremely foamy. The RV's front tank had a very long way for fuel to travel from the front filler to the tank. If the nose was downhill and the station was foamy, it would take a good 10 minutes, at least, to fill the tank. If flat and not foamy, it wasn't an issue.

Ford knew they had a problem. On the 86-dwn trucks the fuel went down the large hose, and they had a smaller plastic hose inside the large hose clipped to the top interior of the large hose. The air was supposed to come out the smaller hose inside the large hose. The small hose was famous from coming out of the clip, making even the gas trucks hard to fill.

In 1987 they switched it around, with fuel going in a smaller rubber hose hooked to the filler neck in the center, and the air is supposed to come up the large hose, and come out that slot you can see where you poke the station gun in. Some people with a marginal filling problem have taken a screwdriver and opened that slot up and it helped their situation. But the fix all is the separate vent out of the top of the tank.

Both of my Fords fill great. The service truck will take fuel at a truck stop in the truck lanes on the max setting. My extended cab will do those at second click usually, and max at an auto pump.

My Dodge, which is a gasser with a flatbed, doesn’t take fuel well… first click or hold nozzle upside down and second click.

My back tank is so bad anything more than minimum pressure to make a tiny little trickle and it pops the handle. Full tank = standing with your hand barely on the trigger for 20-30 minutes. I’m not using it at all except for low fuel situations on the front tank. I end up searching around for #2 because that renewable stuff is everywhere now.
