Of course, if I end up with a rash from chemical burns, I'll make sure not to mention it to @IDIBRONCO .
No I was thinking about having a fuel leak start inside the cab. Then, if it dripped onto a foot, that may give you a rash or chemical burn. The tops of our feet are usually covered and that makes the skin pretty sensitive where out hands aren't so sensitive.

I was just messing with you. I did have it dripping off both elbows though before I got my act together. I'm sure it would have made a comical video. At least I didn't have my mouth open.

I heat my house with wood (and propane as backup). The wood blocks come from a sawmill 7 miles away for $35 a ton. They used to fill my IDI or even my F-350 flatbed for $50 (sort of still counts as a "pickup load") until they figured out they could make more money scaling it. So my cost for 2.5 tons (in the F-350) doubled... still much cheaper than propane.
During the Arctic air cold wave all last week, though, I made many trips to the basement feeding the furnace in single-digit temps. Got some exercise, anyway...
Do you have photos of these blocks?

Investigated pesky power steering leak that finally progressed to a point that it can't be avoided any longer. Sitting in the drive with engine running it doesn't leak a drop {well maybe a drop}, turn the steering wheel while it's running and it leaks pretty good around the shaft with pitman arm. Started researching prices of replacement boxes and WOW! Buckel Up fellas! Think I'm going to try a $15 seal kit first. Hopefully get after that this weekend.....

I'm interested to know how it goes, I have the same thing on my agenda. The seal kit is sitting on my bench.... waiting for me.

Blocks like that used to be easy firewood around here also, then a major wood pellet manufacturer built a factory. They buy up all of the scrap lumber and grind it for making wood pellets.

I installed new "o" rings in my power steering pump and replaced the hose from the pump to the steering gear. I figure this could be the original pump since it has Ford cast into the body. The bushing in the body where the shaft goes through was still in great shape, I'm not sure if that's available since I didn't need it. I had to resort to you tube college to figure out how to remove the snap ring so I could get to the innards... and I found all the springs when they went flying. :Q
Took it for a test drive and no more leaks, I call that a success.

Love that body style. Is that one a 65 or 66?

James
It's a '65. The F-350 didn't change (like the F-100 and 250 did in '66) until '67 though. Extra attention is required when buying parts, as most catalogs show 100 or 250 ;)

Today I ran a couple of errands in the IDI - and heard for the first time a rumbling noise when holding the clutch pedal down :( Had the windows open for the nice weather and for the dog to sniff everything. Most likely the throwout bearing - but the LuK clutch kit and single-mass flywheel have less than 10K miles!

The quality of LUK throwout bearings has been less than stellar, as of late. My service truck has 50,000 original kilometers (roughly 30,000 miles) and has a single mass flywheel as well, meaning that the original clutch couldn’t have lasted long, mileage wise. Could have been DMF failure though…

Went to go start my service truck this evening, and the starter spun but wouldn’t engage. So I tapped it with a hammer, then all it’d do was click. I unbolted it, pulled it down, and found out that it was just an insanely loose connection… maybe I should learn to pay attention… :idiot:

Last night I put a radiator and coolant filter, as well as precharged coolant, in the service truck. I was getting up to 200-215*, so not hot by any means, but I was just a bit afraid that in 100* weather that original radiator might not cut it… Plus I wanted to put the SCA coolant and coolant filter on, and since my local Napa gives me such massive discounts, I figured to just do it all at once.

I think my thermostat opens late, however from my understanding, the cold weather package came with a higher temp thermostat. I did not replace the thermostat as it didn’t seem to be faulty. I do have two spares in the truck though… so if the need should arise, I could swap it out. It doesn’t seem to get above 200* now, in 60* weather, stop and go driving at full throttle, plenty high RPMs, now that I replaced the radiator.

My coolant filter doesn’t seem to be sealed up properly, I think I might have overtightened the filter just a touch…

You've heard "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours", so where's YOUR pictures of the coolant filter? @tbowker and I showed you ours.....

I have a 65 f250 camper special. Only noticeable difference between the 65 and 66 is the grill. And if you still have the original 65 grill don't let anything happen to it, they were a 1 year only thing and the repops are only available in the 66 style.
