Are the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI hard lines the same or are they different lengths? I’ve read that they have something to do with timing and the set I got which was for the truck version of the 6.9, some of them were the wrong length and barely fit to the point I can’t get the anti vibration clamps back on the passenger side lines. Cylinder one is misfiring because of it.

As far as I know both the 6.9 and 7.3 shared the same lines. They are different between the truck and van variants, but past that, the same.

I got a set not long ago (for my 6.9) and they don't fit very well. I had to do a lot of tweaking and was never able to get one of the clamps on. I carry my old ones in the truck in case one of these new ones fails. I should have just put the old ones back on.

They are the same and bending is required and modification no matter what. It’s not just a bolt on thing. You want to buy the lines with the vibration clamps already installed unless you like pain. I get the cheapest ones off eBay that don’t have the sleeve showing.

Did you remove the timing adapter on number one when you put the 6.9 line on. I believe the 6.9 line is longer for this reason.

Correct.
screwhead was looking for one of the timing adapters in this thread and a picture of the thing in post#1 for his 7.3

All the hard fuel lines are the same exact length except for the one on the 7.3 with the timing adapter.
I don`t know anything about the van`s.

I may be totally wrong about this but, my understanding is that the van's are the same also except for the short one with the adapter is on #4 instead of #1.

There is a difference between the turbo motors and NA motors injection lines. The lines for cylinders 2 and 4 are bent differently to pass under the turbo air box. However, that configuration can be run on any of the older NA engines as well. You can see the difference in #2 in the images below.

When I first installed the turbo air box on my 6.9, I had to space it up about an inch to clear the stock 6.9 lines. I ordered 7.3 turbo lines when I rebuilt the motor at a later date and was able to remove the spacers.

I just bend the NA lines as needed. Maybe 5 minutes. I haven’t ran a factory air box, if all the lines would need to be bent I could definitely understand why you would want specific. On my ATS093 I just had to bend the lines around the turbo area.

If that was to me, I bend the first line up or down to fit. I’m ordering Chinese repos (really most everything is from China now). My next unbent set will be here next week and I’ll measure the length of the first line.

No, that was for LordTachunki. He said after putting on 6.9 lines he has a miss on #1 cylinder.
