1993 regular cab - the drips form on the plastic trim that frames the windshield directly above the turn signal stalk. First I suspected the clearance lights and replaced the foam gaskets and the clearance lights with what looks to be original equipment. I added LED lights and it looks great... but still leaks.
Next I had planned to replace the windshield - the guys came over and suggested packing more sealant in the area where the leak seems to be rather than replacing the windshield... It still leaks.
Any suggestions?

That's what I'll do... replace the windshield.

If you guys mean replace the windshield with a different one where are you sourcing the glass from? I’d try and just remove and rebed unless it’s easy and necessary to get a replacement - would assume you’d need to go fishing at the pick n pull but maybe I’m wrong never looked into it

I just recently pulled the windshield out of my parts bronco and put it in my dually. The duallys windshield was cracked and disconnected in a lot of places. Nothing to it. Remove the aluminum trim on the outside and all the inside trim and dash. Use a fresh razor knife on the inside, I wouldn't try the wire stuff. I just kept a fresh blade and kept slicing. Clean everything up and get some windshield glue stuff. YOO CAN DOO ETT!!!!

Edit: it's actually so easy to do that I plan on getting a couple extra windshields at the junk yard sometimes just to have them.

The two times I tried to remove auto glass (windshield or back glass) taught me never to try it again. A man's got to know his limitations.

I've tried a couple cars and that didn't go well. But our trucks are easy. As far as back glass in our trucks, you just work the rubber seal from the inside and they just pop right out and then pop right back in. I'm just a stickler for not letting anyone else work on my vehicle, even in the case of auto glass. It is good to know your limitations. I just don't limit myself.

I had Safelite cut mine out, used masking tape to hold it in, and drove the 25 miles back home.
That was 3 winters back.

Then worked on scraping out all the old sealant, paint and rust. Got her down to clean metal, then treated it with Phosphoric Acid, and gave it a couple coats of POR. Had a small section on the lower drivers side that had small rusted through areas.
You could probably use strips of T-Shirt or old Levi cut into strips to bridge the area, saturated in POR. When the stuff dries, it is rock hard.

"It takes moisture for the POR to set up and dry,
they recommend not to paint out of the can as moisture getting into the can will chemically set it up even when sealed tight.
Be sure to wipe the groove out and lid, then use Seran wrap between lid and can, or you may never get it off."

We placed the glass back in, (with tape) and went back, and Safelite installed a new tinted glass.
$175.

Note:
Crawling around on your hood will dent it etc... mine was dented and tweeked already, had a good hood to swap out from PNP.
Not all that difficult to swap hoods. My Wife helps me.

I do have a new water leak. My plastic trim across the door top and "A" Piller is off.
Right where the pieces are spot welded together at the top of "A" Piller will drip down when starting to drive off when sitting all night in the rain. I did grind out all the old dried cracked sealant and replace it. Need to recheck that gutter again.
