My truck wont start unless i wiggle the automatic gear shift. Would you guys think that would be a bad switch in the column? Im getting worried cause its getting worse and im not sure how that system works. I just assume theres contacts when you put it in park that allow you to start the truck...

If you put it in neutral will it start? Look on transmission at shift lever, should see neutral safety switch. Check that it is not loose and there should be an Arrow or line that aligns or could be switch is just worn out. What year is your truck? Most have cable that connects gear selector on column to shift lever on transmission, some have linkage. Look on YouTube. Hope this helps.

Try starting in neutral and then check switch, se if it’s loose or out of adjustment. Of course don’t run truck while you’re under there.

My 87 F250 has that problem. No reverse lights and has to be in neutral to start. I just learned to live with it. LOL
