R and d 3 inch downpipe

anyone running the 3 inch downpip kit from r and d ? I can't seem to locate a used one from a ats kit for my factory turbo and would really like to upgrade to one since I had my turbo rebuild and intake wheel/compressor housing upgraded by @typ4. It just seems wrong not to do this simple mod at this point having upgraded fuel/intake/turbo and exhaust beyond the down pipe. I do have a banks 2 3/4 downpipe but the factory housing just looks undersized and I want to have turbo whistle at idle if possible it almost does now but not very audible

I am, and I love mine. I cant really tell you it made a difference or not performance wise,but in removal and installation for engine work it is a dream, thought I am sure it does, but I went from na to 093 ww2 r&d dp and intercooler. mine had a decent whistle to it at idle, but a 4'' exhaust with muffler really dampens things.

If you can fabricobble I can send you a factory downpipe and you can cut the flange off that and weld it onto a 3 inch dp for an obs psd

Unfortunately lack of equipment stands in my way of that though I do wish I had a extra stock exhaust housing to avoid the 200$ core charge I have to pay when I buy the housing in the next couple months, it's a 200$ part with 200$ core charge lol

^^ that and 15 minutes of cutting and welding got me my last 3" exhaust outlet.
I make my own down pipes.

So then I buy that, mail you a housing and that with a 50$ bill inside the box and then you keep the 50$ and mail me back my new housing?? Lol

You could always take it to a welding shop and have them do it.

I have the R&D elbow, Im not sure how much it really gains ya, but it feels good knowing its in there.

That's basically what I'm going for, if anything maybe it will sound a little different lol I want to hear what a truck sounds like with one installed and some straight pipe behind it but can't find one in YouTube. I did find a video of how to install one though but gen hasn't video it running yet

I feel like if you are going for maximum performance out of the 093 I think it will gain you slightly, I also think it will lower egts do to more available volume for it to flow out from. but I have to agree it probably is marginal.

I've got the factory turbo style downpipe outlet it's smaller than a 093, not expecting much gains hoping for some lower egts though but yes just wanting to get the most of it since i had it built already might as well go all the way

I don't have r&d's kit but I did cut off and weld on a 3"v-band connection and I'm running a 3" down pipe to 4" back with muffler.

I haven't been able to really try it out yet or get my gauges hooked up to see what egts and boost are but I do get a good amount of turbo whistle from it but that could be from the new ats hot side I got from Russ a while back.

What's difference between ats hotside and factory? I though they were the same besides ats selling their kits with a 3 inch Downpipe? Someone's parting out another idi near me again I'm gonna try and snag the downpipe setup hopefully they say yes
