I grew up using Power Service and haven't really messed with any other additives. However for giggles I tried a 4 oz bottle of Lucas the other day and am WAY impressed. The 94 Idle's a little different and sounds healthier for some reason.
I'm just curious what all additives you guys prefer. (Lets not make this a My additive is better than your additive thread please :) )

What makes my truck run the quietest and the smoothest is a B99 biodiesel mix. It really loves it a lot. However, I do seem to lose around 2MPG, but that's running a 50/50 mix with regular diesel. Haven't tried it in smaller quantities.

I personally prefer the stanadyne performance formula. It lasts a long time and its made by the company that designed and built our fuel systems so you know its gotta be good. Ive also used howes with good results and a few quarts of tranny fluid every once in a while, but the stanadyne is what stays behind the seat all the time........

I used stanadyne in the brown truck, the PO of that truck ran stanadyne performance every tank and I managed to get almost 160k out of the IP before it started to heat soak on me...

I run B99 Biofuel when I can get it. When you get that stuff on your hands you can tell how lube-like it is, way more oily than straight diesel. Everything under the hood seems to like it, BUT it will clean out the crud in your tank in short order. I gunked up a brand new fuel filter on the brown truck after about two tank loads of B99.

I run WMO too, lots of it, and use a centrifuge (ran thru 8x) and 20% diesel in my mix. It runs smooth as silk on it. However, I think part of the issue I've recently had with random rough idle at startup has to do with my fuel of choice. I'm about 1/4 a tank of Diesel and Lucas in, and already noticing a smoother idle and less startup smoke. My speculation (nothing more at this point) is that a good fuel additive every once in a while is important even when running non-orthodox fuels in these trucks. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there..

I use about 4 ozs of Stanadyne Performance Formula in every tank. I really can't recall what the engine ran like the last time it was on straight diesel from the pumps and no additive...

I use 16oz per tank of TCW oil Walmart brand. After I burn a gallon of that I run Powerservice, usually because I forget to restock my oil.

I have used howes in the past, although it all leaked out of the bottle so I didnt rush out and buy it again.

LOL There's a corner of my bed that perpetually reeks of Power Service! They really should design a better cap...

I use their Diesel Kleen in the gray bottle with the B100. If makes starts without gps possible! (not easy but possible:rolleyes:)

I used to run Power Service in the grey or white bottle always, ive since switched to Howes and the truck seems to smoke less and I think run a little better? But any additive is better than nothing.

Summertime mix is 70% WMO 30% #2 ULSD... Anytime the WMO isn't available he gets a quart of two stroke oil in with a tank fill of #2. Run strong like bull...
