Heath,

I completely agree. I am running the clear hose just to see how everything is flowing and calculate purch times. Where is the best place to get those hoses? The only place I can find them are Greaseworks.com or McMaster.com.

Also, for those running WVO, at what temp do you switch over? I'm thinking anything over 100 should be good.

I got my hose at international for 1.70 A foot for the Goodyear stuff.

I got the old lift pump out and the plate mounted and sealed. All the plumbing is done except one spot. Done wiring too. Just need a lil daylight so I can flare the lines to get a bite for the rubber

So as an FYI for anyone thinking about doing it, DON'T use one of those clear plastic parts store filters as a prefilter.

I don't know what micron rating they are but they are SUPER restrictive. I put one in front of my pump today and then couldn't figure out why I was getting almost no pressure at the filter head. I took that filter off and it's difficult to even blow through- probably would have killed my pump trying to suck fuel through it.

Can this pump be used in conjunction with the lift pump as a priming and/or emergency pump if it is fitted between the lift pump and IP? Could they both be used together if I put it on a hot wire?

I got mine done yesterday and see a bubble or two every 30 seconds in the clear filter area of the pump, is this normal?

I dont think it would work. It might though. There's a one way check valve

If ran in parallel it could be a backup with some check valves

Got mine finished today and after bleeding the system it fired right up:) with the added water sep between it and the fuel filter. I cut and flared the old fuel lines and reused the fuel line with heater. Pita doing the fuel tank line. Got the lift pump off the second bolts a witch but mainly causeof the tight apace. Got a wrenh on it and did little turns from underneath. Didn't have to pull the vac ppump

Isn't the check valve there to stop fuel running back when the pump isn't running? If the epump wasn't being powered the pressure from the stock mechanical lift pump would push the check valve open and allow fuel to flow through the epump no?. The reason I'm asking this is that I would want both pumps in the event of a failure of one.

the biggest issue with running both pumps is if the diaphram tears it will just dump fuel into the engine crankcase.

I meant a check valve after each pump, then have them Y-together. if the mech. pump is on then it can't force fuel to the electric, or if the electric is on and the mech. has failed it wont force fuel there. :dunno

Or you could just use valves:sly. have the fuel line from the tank Y-off to both pumps, valves before each pump, and then have them Y back together to the filter/engine. open the valve for the pump you want shut the valve for the other. My mech. never failed, I would honestly just upgrade to electric and carry a spare if your extra worried. mines only attached by two bolts and two hose clamps, would be easy to change that in 5 minutes even in pitch black:dunno

Not sure how well mine is working, it quited down and pumped the diesel up pretty fast, opened the shrader to help it out. the pressure out of the stock filter seems less than the lift pump though. Still comes pouring out either way. Maybe I should just run the water sep? My compression could be pretty low and causing the rough starts too IDK anymore. I was playing with changing my glowplug time, it starts every time with 15 sec. Less and it tries but fails so IDK if its still purging or if I need intense heat to make up for the low comp

Well gentleman, just got this installed today. At idle my fuel gauge is reading 5psi. As soon i i get on the throttle she drops and pegs out at zero???

Notice that in hammering the throttle, with 10 lbs of boost, etc the truck does not seem to be starving for fuel??

Is this just the pump, or the gauge.

As for how this is setup, the sender is inbetween the pump and the factory fuel filter head.

just learn to let go lol.
how often do you hear of these pumps failing?
i never have yet.:)
if you want a pump for a backup, then just buy two lol,but it likely wouldn't ever get used.:rotflmao
