Frankentruck lover
I put together this 2 part vid when I made the change from the 2 650 CCA batts. to the 950 CCA G-31 batts.
The truck is a 87 F250 6.9 L with some original parts, like the battery cables and the return lines!
I decided to try to buy locally, looked at the marine grade cable and automotive cable, way too stiff.
Checked out the prices and decided to use 2/0 cable from my local welding supply, they also had the correct ends.
Picked up the heat shrink tubing and some solder, right down the street at the electronics supply.
Got the G-31 batteries from Interstate through a friend who is a dealer, the batteries are reconditioned.
IIRC the batts were $100.00 for the pair
Cable and ends $100.00
Solder and heat shrink $25.00
Watching the 6.9 spin that fast, priceless
Took at least an hour to deal with the starter wires and the starter.
