IDI trucks are still Cheap around here, cause they are all rusted out. If you really want one Scott, I'd think a grand would buy you a good runner. Graham just bought the Scarlet Moose with 90K original miles for $1100. Thing runs like a top. I see Bronco's for sale all over. :dunno Just do it. :sly ;Sweet

As for upgrade kits, the problem is this. A new nozzle is only $5 cheaper than a whole injector. It's not financially viable.

I don't suppose there is any possibility of mass producing these things if they prove successful?

CNC machines are getting cheaper these days....you know, with all the factories closing down:rolleyes:

If things continued to go well for me up here, I think a moose pump is at the very least in order. I don't really need new injectors, but oh man these are so cool.

I doubt there will ever be enough demand to mass produce them. There is always the issue of wanting and having. I've been doing Moose Pumps for a long time now, but there is still only about a dozen of them out there, but probably 4 dozen that want them. The injectors will be the same I'm sure. If I make 4 sets by the end of the year I'll be surprised.

Mel... I'm at a loss... I've a stock turbo fresh rebuild (thx Russ), low miles motor ( 63k) no cooler... would a moose pump and injectors really help??? More fuel means more heat and I've no way to dissipate this... Ive seen some questions before asked but no real answers.... I know your not out to make a quick buck, so your answers are not $$$ motivated. Another 50-100 hp would be nice. Obviously I I'm not expecting that from a pump and inj alone... :) a new turbo might be needed and a cooler

If you've turned your pump up all the way and you still have some room for your EGT's to climb, then yes a Moose Pump will help. A Moose Pump can also give you some shorter term power gains, but the EGT's will always catch up to you on a stock motor. What is needed to get the most out of Moose Pump is a lot of boost and an intercooler. That said, I run a Moose Pump on the Moose Truck, and appreciate the extra fuel when I think I can get away with it. I'm still wanting to add an intercooler pretty badly, as I think there is a lot of power laying there without it. More boost... well, that's up to my headgaskets to decide.

I don't have an intercooler and the moose pump doesn't overheat anything.
I have to work on burning fuel to get it up past 800 for more than a short bit.

Yes, they should work fine with a stock pump. Price is still TBD. Should know something soon. An intercooler is not a hard job if you don't have the wide rad like the early non-AC trucks had.

You could also cool it with the correct Water **** Injection system and get a little more power to boot.

If I ever decide EGTs are too high, that is the route I will take. My understanding is that a well set up water injection system will out perform a well set up intercooler in every way.

I had wondered if a water injections system would function as well as an intercooler for reducing the EGTs and charge air temps. I know a cold air intake would help some but not enough probably.

I will be building HOD (hydrogen on demand generators) for my 95 4.9 F150 sons 98 4.0 Ford Explorer the wife's 99 Cheby suburban 3fitty and my 87 mazda B2000 I know they will help motor run cooler smoother and add some horse to it but I did not think it would cool off enough on my 7.3 (which will also get one)
