Hello everyone. O93 ATS turbo. I modified the factory dipstick tube when the cab was off and I thought everything was good, but unfortunately there was still not enough room to run the way I wanted to so I purchased this flexible dipstick tube. If you snake it down behind the passenger side valve cover it pretty much goes right into the transmission tube and then the bracket on the top below the dipstick handle one of those holes happens to go right on a stud that the barometric pressure sensor is mounted too. Almost too perfect. Problem is, there’s no way around a tiny little section of it resting on the turbo up pipe. Now I do have the up pipe wrapped heavily with insulation, but who knows how hot that actually gets. The inside of the tube looks like simple nylon, and I do not know how much heat that can take. Anyone have any experience with these?

Worst case scenario, I can always use it to fill and check the fluid, and then when all is good, simply pull it out and put a plug on the steel standpipe in the transmission. It’s not like you check your transmission fluid every day. I could keep the flexible tube behind the seat of the truck if I ever need to check it, just slide it down and pop it in.

Thanks, everyone.

where did you pick that up? Ever since I turbo'd my truck I've been guessing with my dipstick. Picked up an aftermarket one but it's not quite the right length.

If that’s an actual lokar unit it should be fine. I have had those sitting on gas headers with zero issues.
Woah! That’s all I needed to hear that’s fantastic. Unfortunately, I do not know the brand, it was purchased from Classic Diesel designs with the proper dipstick length. Plug and play so to speak.

It looks genuine to me. You can usually tell by the head piece. If it feels good and heavy and finished well it’s real. I’m sure classic diesel would. It sell fake stuff.
