In laws finally decided they want to rebuild the pump and injectors on their truck, and as payment they bought me the dti 3300!
Im gonna get the injectors from Russ, but he's out of stock for pumps. Who is the other trusted vendors for getting a pump built? Reached out to R&D but they're a month out.

Edit, found this thread that had them listed, ordered a pump from Moose diesel!
That’s cool you got it from them. Throwback to the old days of the forum and IDIs. Isn’t it Mel’s daughter who owns the business now? Did you talk to them and find out whose building the pumps these days? They used to be local to me.

No, I had called and asked, Suzi apparently is running the front desk, all she said was the pump I need will be done on Friday. Definitely willing to send them some business.

Well, truck overheated on me today and knowing I had bad turbo flange bolts, I got it home, thanks to a buddy with a 7.3 PSD and my gooseneck, and tore it all down. One stud was broke by me yesterday, another one today. Found one of the studs didn’t have a nut on it cause a previous owner had boogered the threads up and another has been booger welded back in.

Got the studs out, installed Grade 8 bolts instead with copious amounts of anti-seize, and got it all back together. Happened to find the unplugged oil pressure sensor when I was re-routing all the lines and putting stuff back together.

Found the leak that caused the overheat. Pinhole leak next to the heater hose clamp coming out of the block. Made the repair easier as I just trimmed the hose back.

Turbo has been changed by a previous owner as well. Whomever it was, they put a non-wastegate Rotomaster t04b35 on there. Turbo is in good shape, and whistles a good bit.

@Jesus Freak, don’t come for the 6.9 just yet. She’s not done ******* me off yet. Lol

So it is possible to remove the turbo from the up-pipe flange without disconnecting anything else? One of the four nuts looks really difficult to get a wrench on...

I had to pull the whole mount assembly due to the hardware being seized. I could probably do it now but I wouldn’t. It’s 2 bolts on the back of the trans, the down pipe, and the up pipe and she’s off. From there you can pull it apart on the bench.

And this is a different set up than you have. That may make a difference.

Hauled this about 30 miles to my house. Wasn't sure the Ole tow truck had it in her, but after I rocked it back and forth a half dozen times I got momentum enough to make it roll, so I knew I was golden. It's a 1985 garage kept Snapper with the bagger!

Man I've been out of the loop about 2 years. Running Moose #4 (from 07') on my truck.

What happened to Mel? Met him in 2019. Great guy.

I’m going to tell Forrest Gump you took his mower.
Close, but Forrest's mower had a different handle bar, should have been like a 26-28" cut and it probably said "comet" on the front. If I had one of those it wouldn't be for sale.
