My wife complains about coming out to push the pedal to help me bleed the brakes...
I never said she doesn’t complain..... LOL

I think I got pretty lucky, met this chick freshman year. We’re about to graduate and she’s been just as much a part of this hunk of junk as I am. She’s pretty cool to hang out with too LOL

Momma actually likes to come out and help me work on stuff.... she is just a dirty or dirtier that I am when we go back in the house. She is much smaller than me... and her hands are much smaller (I am 6’4” 350+) and some days my iPhone 11 Max is still to small to use.... she deals with the stuff I can’t get my hands to...... so if she will come help, she is a keeper.... she just had a birthday and I got her a couple of smaller things, and had planned on a couple other things... and got them... but I had ordered some parts for her truck, and mine.... and she said you don’t have to get me anything else since you got the parts my truck needed.......

I went over 80 mph for the first time today. Did 100+ passing on the freeway. All I can say is even with 4:10 gears, my rig had no issues and would have kept accelerating if I had let it, about 850 on the pyro @100 mph, pretty good :Thumbs Up

Coming home today and my wife likes to drive just a little faster than me. Two lanes merge and she was about to pass me. Just as she got to the rear corner of the truck I laid into it and was quite happy with how quickly the old truck went from 60-80 LOL I got glared at when she finally did pass me though! (All in good fun of course).

To even get to 80 would be nice but I cant get there except maybe down hill, hammer down and light can barllly do 70. I should have 4.10 in the rear but think is 4.53, that and a t19 without overdrive is no help. I am tempted to go to 3.55 to match the front but dont think have the power to run it, the spread I have with the rear is usable mostly.

I dislike my 3.55’s because I have fairly big tires. If I had 33’s I think it wouldn’t be as bad. 35’s suck though.

Yea the t19 might be too great a spread for 3.55, its about the same as a zf5 exept without the overdrive. I might try out a zf5 since have the 4.56 rear if found cheap, did not find it of interest when gathering parts to build the truck originally. I was too unsure on it being like the mazda in the bubble f150 or getrag in a obs chevy that are soft/vague, I liked the stiff/clunky t18 from my first truck. The close t19 is perfect for the f100 since has the power and rpm range to use it, 3.73+28in is about the same as 4.56+35in looking at a gear calculator. Was thinking a dubble under fuller 6 speed would be nice with the 3.55 since has a tighter spread, might have second thoughts on that.

my f250 has a t19 with 3.55s and I think the gear spread is just fine. I don't see why a lot of guys are down on 3.55s unless they are towing heavy all the time or running big tires. The only difference to me, is in between shifts, and hill starts when really loaded, but it doesn'treally struggle that much. I mostly use the f250 for a DD/tool carrier, so I actually prefer the 3.55s with the t19, since I don't have overdrive. If the truck had a zf5, I would probably prefer the 4.10s. JMHO

I tow heavy with 3.55s and a ZF-5. It does struggle getting off the line on a hill, but once rolling I generally stay in 4th gear unless it’s downhill. I just moved from 285s to 265s to see if that helps.

When running light I love that I can hit 5th and run 80+ (lots of 80mph speed limits around here) to keep up with traffic. Even running 80 in eastern Oregon I’m usually getting passed by most cars!

I have 35s on the truck, so can say I have big tires. I dont realy want to change the ratio of both axles, so choice would be 4.53 or 3.55. Chaging the ratio of the the dana 60 would require me to get a case spreader and be the hardest to change, so would rather not touch it if can. The 4.53 dose give a good spread for use with the t19 and zf5 tho.

Dane what were your RPMs and what size tires are you running? I think with stock size tires, mine will probably top out at 85-90 . Never have topped it out. My buddy told me once that if you can keep a diesel engine at 1500 - 1800 RPMs the theoretical life span of a diesel is around 1 million miles( if serviced regularly). He said never to lug it and not ride the governor for very long..... Hes an old gentleman who I trust to be truthful....... What you?

Most on this board will run them on redline all day. I recall a thread asking "how can I get more power pulling uphill" and everyone answered "downshift and redline".

In my opinion the engineers got paid a lot to set the redline at a safe RPM, and I trust em. If you raise your redline all bets are off
