I'm going to make some purists mad but I know what color I really want to paint it if I can swing it. It's a GM color though. I'll have to figure out the name but it's a deep blue metallic they've been using on trucks for a while. The shade changes slightly in the light and it's just a beautiful shade of blue.

Think I have seen that blue before on a obs chevy, think that was the one that had a bit silver. Another color I can think of that dose that is the dark jade off the old mustangs that would get a gold hue in the sun.

Edit: Im forgeing the one in possession, the alpine white on the bmw when waxed get a purple hue in the sun. Think that would be nice on snow white.

They're out there. Just keep looking. I took me a LONG time to find mine.

Sounds lik eit may have a pearl coat in it?

Ebentually I'm going to paint my Ex Wife a different color. I'm not the wildest about blue, but it's not bad. I don't really care much for the colors on her and I really don't like them together. I'm thinking about something along the lines of a Royal blue. I do like that color. Even with that color, I feel that it would be too much blue. To break it up a little bit, I want To have sliver pinstriping where the upper one is at now. Then I want the lower dark blue part to be painted silver too. I think that the silver paint and pinstriping will go pretty good with some new, shiny, stainless simulators on the wheels.

Probably not the same but I'm not sure. I don't know when they started using it but I don't recall seeing the same color on the OBS trucks.

Oh I'm sure. I'm pretty sure it's "GM DEEP OCEAN BLUE G1K" but I'd have to triple check. It's only $340/gal for just the paint :(

Crew cab duallys aren't cheap to paint!

That's a beautiful truck you got there! I am still kicking myself for not buying an 87 CC dually 6.9 ,zf5 , with ats 088 and 108k miles. It was 20 miles from me and $1200. Had air intrusion problems and wasn't running, but came with a new return line kit. It was gone in 2 hours, and I saw it up for sale again the next day for $2500 still not running. If I needed it at the time, I would of bought it, even at $2500, but I planned on fixing up the IH, so I passed on it. If I only knew-cuss-cuss.

Don't kick yourself too hard. The biggest difference in where you live and where I live is the population. There's a lot more people around who are looking for the same thing that you are in Pennsylvania compared to Kansas. It also helped that my truck wasn't advertised. I just happened to notice the top of the cab sticking above the weeds back in 2008. I talked to the guy then, but had no way to come up with the $2500 he was asking then. I just kept in the back of my mind and happened to get it worked out last fall.

You are absolutely right! I have been thinking of other places besides marketplace and craigslist that I could look. There seems to be a lot of older trucks advertised in the local paper, and there are a few auto auctions around here locally. I am trying to just be patient and wait for the right truck to come along. The crazy part, is back when I wasn't looking for a CC dually, I saw them all over the place, but now I never see them. I am hoping that is mostly because it's winter and people got these trucks sitting buried in the snow somewhere. I am not really in a rush, but would like to get one before the end of the year. It looks like I will be selling the IH in the next week or so, which arms me for the hunt:Thumbs Up-Flame Thr
