I have a 100 gallon aux tank for my truck for my WMO. I was considering running my heater hose from my heater core outlet through some kind of coil in the tank to warm it up. Thoughts? Ideas??

Are you planning on running it 100wmo or blending it 85wmo? I wonder cause if you use gas to blend then it might boil if it gets to warm. I was thinking of building "header tank" that heated. I was going to put a temp gauge and then 1996 Honda Civic heater control valve(cable operated, made for coolant, hose barbs, and easy to get from junk yards.) That way I could monitor the temps and keep from vapor-locking.

They make coolant heated fuel pickups, heated fuel lines, etc. Davco makes some cool filters that have coolant and electric heating.

This guy has some good thoughts.

I personally just run the main tank and blend so I don't have to heat. I have bed tank for range extender and fill the main tank from it. This is what I dreamed up several years ago and made it so complicated I never did it

im near Charlotte NC so temps don’t get too cold
my plan is to run 2 tanks. Truck tank with diesel for start up and shut down and wmo in aux tank. I don’t plan on mixing gas. Diesel if anything. I don’t think the coolant temp would be high enough to do anything exciting anyway. I skimmed through that video. I’ll watch it later when I got time. Looks interesting

Two tanks is the way to go. Cool cool I dug around the old parts scrounge parts box. Found some part numbers for you. Might be helpful. I put a wanted add on Craigslist to see if anyone was getting out of wvo and wanted to sell off the gear. Worth a shot.

Blending diesel will be super stable, so no heating issues with coolant. Might put a fuel temp prob and guage before the injection pump to see how warm it actually gets/hot enough. More for curiosity. I would think you might want less heat in summer so maybe a valve to control for different seasons? Not sure if it makes a difference. I have always wondered how fuel temp effects EGTs.

You thinking of doing mechanical valves or electric solenoids? They also make electric coolant pumps to help for remote heater. Kinda cool

Temps would be interesting to see.
thanks for all the info.
Probably do 2 - 3 way manual valves.
I'm thinking of running a inline block heater on the heater hose going into the fuel tank

Never really want to suck completely off the bottom or completely empty. I have found that even after centrifuging I have some fines settle out, which means I probably need to run another few rounds of centrifuging. Also good idea have prevision for eventual cleaning. Maybe over time build up or bad batch of fuel
