Man, those diesel RX glow plugs look funny right above the hex part. As for the plug on the FIPL, that probably needs a new lead.
Today all I did to the truck was prime it for the ten millionth time. I've got a new fuel filter housing ordered that'll fix it, but in the mean time I get to torture the original starter some more
What I don't get is why this small leak ****** it off so much, but the MASSIVE leak(s) it used to have did nothing. When I got my truck back from getting its new IP / injectors / returns, 14 of 16 o-rings were torn, the truck left a trail of diesel everywhere and you could see a waterfall of diesel pouring down. I ran it that way for over a month, daily driving and road tripping it, and not once did it stall or run rough. And yet, this near invisible fuel heater leak causes the truck to stall any time it's left sitting for an hour. IDI's are strange
Update: I finished the thermostat job. I was in a hurry to get it finished and load up my four wheeler and sprayer so I could get my yard sprayed (remember, my garage is in another town 15 miles away from the house). Naturally, I didn't remember the one way valve until it was running. Oh well, I'll just have to do it another day.I finally got off my duff and changed the thermostat. I didn't quite finish. All I have left tomorrow is to hook up the power wires, install the one way valve that I got from Thewespaul, fill the radiator, and fire it up.
Machined this little fitting.

Just a manifold for the return lines. Did not like the stock arrangement with turbo as the barb for the passenger side injector return is difficult to access. Also less of a conglomeration as there is no need for an extra tee for the injection pump, recommended plumbing route by Conestoga diesel. Not for use in California, material is 1215L, free machining steel with lead for lubricity. Hose barb and external thread on other end were performed on a lathe, CNC mill for the three 1/8 pipe threaded holes on the side.Say...what's that fittting fer? Looks rather interesting...elaborates can you?
Is that a "one-way check valve" for the fuel return....possibly?
