Location
Bowling Green, KY
Where: Greenbrier Campground

Address: 5406 Pittman Center Road
Sevierville, TN 37876

Phone: (865) 430-7415

When: July 6 - 14, 2019

The campground is surrounded by a river. Almost every site is on a section of the river available right behind them. We have reserved most sites in the new addition of the campground which is not yet on the site map on their website. The new sites are more spaced out, easy to pull into, and close to each other with a brand new bathhouse, laundry and playground.

Sites reserved:
200-205
208
217-220
66-67
80
All full hookup, 50amp.

Cost: For 7/6 - 7/7 - $79 ($67.15 with our group rate)
For 7/8 - 7/14 - $69 ($58.65 with our group rate)

Other options:
The cabins unfortunately are fully booked and not available for months. They do however have "bell tents" that have two beds, lights and a fan. We reserved all three of these for the group. They also have two rental campers available that week and we reserved those as well.

There are cabins just across the river from the campground available from Parkside Cabins (1-800-436-5053). Keep in mind, if you stay in one of these, you will be somewhat separated from the group. The Parkside Cabins is a separate campground but they work together and allow people to access both campgrounds without worrying about a visitor pass. Also there is NO VISTOR FEE.

The river is open to tube from one end of the campground to the other. There is a beach area for swimming. Might want to bring tubes to float on. Little ones would likely need a life vest or puddle jumper.

They are closed until March 1st.... and you can't reserve the above sites online (because we have them reserved - LOL).... SO YOU MUST CALL THE CAMPGROUND TO RESERVE A SPOT. They are in the office a few days a week. Leave a message and they will call you back. Courtney is our contact person at the campground. You must tell them you are with the Oilburners group to get a site we reserved and get the 15% discount.

Deadline to reserve your site, bell tent, or rental camper is April 1st 2019! After this date all unfilled reservations will be released.

More details to come.

Thanks for the update. I went to the other thread for an update and chillman88 sent me here. Guess I should have looked more before posting all is well. Thanks Jared and Heath for checking it out. Now the planning for the trip and fixing of the trucks start.

Just like camping with your buddies and their families. Last year was my first rally and it was a blast. Stayed at the campground and the host(s) have several activities planned. All are optional but worth going on! We had a couple group potluck dinners last time too. My favorite activity last time was the "test and tune" where we all went to a drag strip and a few of the guys tried to break stuff, some more successfuly than others lol!

It was a blast and I would highly recommend it if you can come out. Even if only for a day or two.

i think Chris summed it up well overall, like hanging out with all your friends for a week. we are a family friendly group that used trucks to hang out together lol. we enjoy checking out each others hard work done on vehicles and just relaxing for the week. Usually at least one official pot luck group meal but more unofficial ones usually happen.

one of the low key events that is always a given is everyone gathering around the camp fire every night swapping stories and having a good time. we usually have some smore equipment going for the kids and adult drinks later for the "grown ups". all meant to be family and group friendly.

i am really looking forward to getting back down to TN, the area is really beautiful and has a ton of fun stuff to do. now that we have the place picked out we are sorting though ideas for group activities.

So far the Sutton's and Witmer's have signed up for sites 13 and 12. we tried to be in the middle of everyone. unfortunately we could not lock down the whole row for ourselves but no one on that new row will be far away.

we should have done this while we were down there but you can see the field at about 20 seconds in where they cut new sites in along the tree line near the stream in this video.

That video is a nice find Jared. The green field just to the left at the beginning of the video (right before he crosses the bridge at the entrance) is where the new section is. Video was shot before they started. The cabins from Parkside are just across from the beach area on the right (where he parked and walked down to water - look over the water and right.). He showed the Bell Tent that is set up there as well. You can see some of the other Bell Tents as he drives out (to his right). They are located in the timber and when we saw them last weekend, they kind of made me want to leave the camper at home and rent one of those. LOL

Jared beat me to it.... But Missy and I are in lucky 213 and Jared and Jill are in 212. Like he said, we wanted to be in the middle of group as best as we could.

Seeing the guy fishing in the video reminded me........ to fish the river, you'll have to have a TN fishing license and a trout permit. Kids under 12 don't need either.

Thanks for posting the video and doing the leg work guys, Im really looking forward to getting up there and meeting yall. Right now Im working with my parents to see what they want to bring up there since that will dictate our reservations. Just got done replacing all the frame around the blacktank in their avion so I imagine they will take that and I may do one of the onsite tents so I can trailer another truck up there. Ill make our reservations once we know for sure ;Sweet

Is there a day that the group does any specific truck stuff? Cruises, timing demonstration, etc? I'm fairly local to Sevierville so I could make it down for the weekend but I can't take that much time off of work.

Yes, as the time gets closer the organizers usually post an itinerary :) sometimes they put out feelers for dates so watch the posts for polls or questions

Other thing to keep in mind is you don't have to stay the whole time. Most guys call and change the arrival and departure dates on their reservation based on their schedule. Some come for a couple of days. Some stay longer than the group. Totally up to you.

As far as timing.... don't know if anybody coming (don't know who is coming yet) has a timing meter. But, someone might. Don't know that we'll have an office timing clinic or the like. Just will have to see.
