I don't see how that would drop the heat very much. All it does is created a little more surface area and some more trans fluid.

Is there any reason you couldn't pipe a hose from the drain plug, to a filter and pump, pump it to the front of the truck where you'd have a real cooler, and than back to the fill plug?
wouldn't cost much more, and would give real cooling benefits.

I remember Homer posted this and I saved it for future use, I think it is about the same as the one on ebay and yes the added fluid alone sure should improve things.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be effective at all....
It just seems for $100 I could figure something better.

They work awesome. I've had them on several trucks now and they do make a large difference especially when you are towing.

Brimstone. How well does your exhaust clear that. I like the idea of adding more oil and the heatsink.

It's a little tight unless you reroute the pipe slightly. My 87 has a turbo and I was able to modify the pipe quite easily to get clearance. I want to run to of them but the front driveshaft gets in the way on the one side.

My BTS E4OD trans has a mag hitec pan that holds an extra 2 gallons.....
