I run a quart extra through the top of the shifter hole in my zf5. I ran 50wt big rig tranny oil in the summer and regular ATF in the winter both a quart extra. The 50wt made it impossible to shift in the winter. Was just to thick. You will probably get many different opinions in regards to this but thats what i do. I just drain the fluid right into a jug when changing.
