Wrapping up-pipes

It definitely helps performance but if you get it in the rain or snow its a sponge. If you have good stainless or ceramic coated pipes its fine no matter what.

I have ruined a few sets on daily driver pickups and cars over the years because of wrap.

I would think that if you coated the pipes inside and out and then wrapped them they wouldn't rot out

Wrap the pipes with the insulation wet. Let it dry and then install the pipes.......... LOL

I'll edit the 1st post as I can see how poorly worded it is.:angel:

OK now I'm wondering about some HI HEAT paint...soaking the wrap in a bucket of say BBQ black or similar HI heat paint...

Wrap...let dry...

Just wonderin.....

Dave on fte said he did his (in this order) wrap spray( with ultra hi temp paint) let dry, another wrap and let dry.
I dont know how that worked for him cuz I'm never on that forum.
