I’m working on replacing my battery cables with a kit from classic diesel designs. On my passenger side battery cable, there is one cut wire coming off of it and a second wire that runs into a connector that then runs into the large harness that runs along the core support in front of the radiator. I’m not seeing anything that looks like this on a wiring diagram. Anybody know what it is, and if it’s necessary? The cables from CDD don’t have it.

It is a ground option, if I remember right option for the RABS system

So, yes, it is important. I don't think that any new cables come with that. All you have to do is to take it off of your old cables and then hook it back to the negative battery post. Exactly how you do that is up to you.
