If you put JB weld on the broken parts and then try to clean it and heliarc weld it you will have a real mess. Don't use anything on it. Just have it welded clean and as already posted, it must be clean.... And preheated for best welding.

Ops, wish You have told Me that yesterday LOL

Here is a pic of how it is now, I check the local welder and see what He can do to make it one piece again.

For what it's worth, I drove the Moosestang around for several months with NO bolts in that location, and never realized it until I just happened to be looking around. I think all they do is limit the side to side movement of the engine some.

Been a year with the drivers side tab broken on the Beef. Just careful getting the ole gal rolling.

I didn't feel any difference either, even with the new mount.

Nick, I agree, I don't think the jb stick to anything there, but at least it'll hold it until I have it welded.

If I ever have this tranny rebuild, can I use it as a core?
