I am thinking about doing the clutch linkage modification to my truck. This is part of my "fixing anything jury-rigged" plan. I am worried about the linkage in there now fail when im going down the road.

I read the tech article for this and it seems pretty straightforward.

Has anyone done this modification and would like to give me a couple pointers?

Thanks
Matt

Also, where should I get the heim joint. The tech article says Aurora Bearing Company part number CW-6. I got on the website for this company and browsed by part number and it comes up with nothing.

Any help would be appreciated

Any bearing supplier can get you the "spherical rod end bearing". Take them that part number and they will be able to cross it to whatever manufacturer they carry.

The 3/8 size napa number is 732-1129 balkamp. I cut off the loop on my pushrod and threaded it to 3/8 fine and hooked it up, works SO much better. Had to delete the clutch switch tho. Going to put a microswitch under there insted of that wierd plastic thing. ;Sweet

I did it to my wife's truck and, like everyone else said, what a difference. No more mashing the pedal to the floor.
