Black stuff in the rear view mirror is not power, it's unburned fuel.
The right combination of air, fuel, and timing gets you more power.

Charge air cooler [intercooler] cools intake air so it is more dense. More dense air has more oxygen packed in the same space, which means, you can burn the fuel more completely and make more heat energy to expand the fuel/air charge and drive the pistons..

If you are smoking anything except the tires, you need more cold intake air.

The motor is cleaner than i remember.
