Plasti kote brand. color of your choice. I did mine ford gray.
First time I thought I would use epoxy, meter grey. Great match for IH grey. Iron rust came right thru in about a year and I used all specefied prep. Chemistry based Son said heat baked out the benefits of the epoxy paint. Might have well used latex.LOL

I've heard god things about those ceramic-based ones like they have from most/many of the 'major brands' have available.

No matter what paint you choose to use, no matter what the can says, ALWAYS do more prep than the can says, you want things SPOTLESS before painting, usually over something like fresh-blasted metal after it's been cleaned to the tissue paper rub level of clean. The better the prep the better the results, then after the painting is done and cured, you might want to top-coat with an engine clear. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, even a single microscopic level of grease and-or dirt can DESTROY an entire paint-job on the engine.

I used PPG Omni epoxy primer, then top coated with Acrylic Urethane Enamel that used a hardener. So far it still looks good (two years). I tried a high heat POR 15 product on the exhaust manifolds after sand blasting them and it has failed. The exhaust ports on the head get too hot for most paints. I would try the VHT paints where there is heat like exhaust manifolds, or better yet get them ceramic coated. I thought the intake manifold looked good with the raw aluminum so I clear coated it after using an adhesion promoter. It still looks good two years on.
Edit: sorry about the pic size. Right click on pic and select "view image".

for my exhaust manifolds, turbo up pipes and exhaust housing, i will be using the Turbo X coating by techline, Black
http://www.techlinecoatings.com/hi-performance/bs-exhaust-system-coatings.html

i do plan on baking them to 400 degrees for a few hours so i dont chip the coating during install
all aluminum pieces i hope to polish and powder coat clear.
all stamped steel will be powder coated black

i may powder coat the serp brackets.
alternator and ac comp will be natural.
i do plan on buying all stainless hardware.
i like the fact that they dont corrode, and discolor.

I'd highly recommend a high heat header paint for the whole engine. Like TahoeTom said, the exhaust port area of the heads will get screaming hot and nuke any regular paint.

The key problem is most folks use BLOCK (400*) paint on the heads...

Cummins industrial tan with black accessories that's what I'm planning on using on mine What color are you thinking of painting?
also IH Red or Cat Yellow would be a good choice if it's good enough for Heavy Mahchines it should last.
If I remember Right Greg used Cat Yellow on his engine.
