what is rad worth

Anyone have any idea of what an OEM rad is worth for in scrap metal? I can't tell exactly what all it is made out of,is it all copper or what?

considering a brand new one would cost me almost $900 from Canadian Tire, I would be putting a price tag of about $100 - $150 on it and selling it if it's any good at all! AFAIK the IDI's had the SAME rad from 1983 to 1994 I think I read somewheres?

I just hauled two in last week. To get full price for them you need to pop the mounting rails off of it or they will dock you for that. I Hauled two in an got $50 each. I was happy with that since I really needed the money.

these things sell for 400+ most catalogs and parts stores, i have a few laying around and i sure as heck wouldnt get rid of them cheap

I have a spare sitting at home . Bought it, an alternator/bracket, 7.3 rockers and pushrods, 7.3 fuel filter setup...plus a couple other things....for $25

I got a "new"radiator from the junkyard for $30. Scrapped the old one for $35

A good used is worth $125 to $150 IMO. I would only scrap a junky one myself.

I scrapped 2 bad ones a month ago. They were plugged pretty badly--the cause of my overheating in my old truck.
I striped off the brackest and got about $45 each.
Scrap metal prices vary with time.
