its c-6 auto, and he says he thinks it has 4.10 gears, new batteries, not really anything wrong with it, hmmm i never owned an auto diesel before

. autos belong in one place.... the junkyard. even if i had a limb cut off i'd adapt a stick shift so i could use it! i heard the c6 is stong, but it's still an auto. the E4OD in my '92 was gross.

yea they use c6s behind quite a few drag cars with over 1000 hp and they are easy to build and rebuild. not super expensive like a hipo e4od.....................

Before I did the ZF swap in my 85 F-250, my wife thought she could drive it. She didn't even get a mile down the street before she jackknifed my trailer and ripped the tool box off the tongue. If it's got a stick, she'll leave it alone. Automatics are way to unreliable, it's pretty rare that a manual will break in a way that prevents you from at least limping home.

Granddad bought a new 85 6.9/c6 230,000 farm miles and still won't die. Loves it!! I like being able to control torque/h.p. with manual. Can't knock his c6. It's been a tough one

C-6 with 4.10s turns way to high in my book. I had an 86 equipped that way and hated it.
Of course, you like turning high RPMS so it may be perfect for you

I do have some pretty solid respect for the C6, the one in my truck has 350,000 miles on it... I adjusted the intermediate band the other day and now it's shifting like a champ again.

Don't care for the ****-poor fuel economy, though.

You know something that's always thrown me off when looking at vehicles on craigslist, etc.??? CLOSE THE FREAKING HOOD before you take the pictures. Something about seeing the hood part way up makes me thing "Your gonna be in here alot"

yea i would have to get another one them springs that would turn 4500 that way my top speed wouldnt be too low
