mankypro;241824 How much is this thing?[/QUOTE said:
Well according to this site http://72.20.96.178/commerce/ccc1235-ranger-torque-splitter.htm where I would purchase it from $1504 which is reasonable when you look at the specs it's a bargain!

This is something I have considered for my truck as it allows split gearing and overdrive.

As for a Dana 50 TTB VS a Dana 44HD TTB there is negligible difference in strength as the 50's ring gear is moderately larger than the 44's and the rest axles ujoints etc are identical to the 44 and 44HD TTB

Get a Dana 44HD pumpkin from a F250 and install it with 3:54 gearset and your off and running!

This is an excellent idea, take your Dana 50TTB and switch it out with a Dana 44HD TTB, and you can have 3.54's. I bet you could probably find someone who is willing to trade straight up a dana 44HD for your Dana 50, I guess I might be willing to do that :D

The 44HD u-joints are standard 44 stuff, the 50 ones are old school 44HD ones with the external(driveline style) retaining clips.
The 44HD pumpkin is just a TTB44 one, can probably find a F150 one with 3.08's already in it, but, I don't think you can get 3.08's for a D70.

The ZF will bolt right up to your transfer case, no issues there.
I suggest you look around locally, I picked up one with 50K miles out of a F450 for $300.

That's awfully generous of you. Any idea on logistics getting that thing across a border?

It's up to 4k at this point. And while I do want the banks and having another truck to pull parts from would be a very nice thing, it's already more expensive than just buying a GV and tossing it in my truck. And that doesn't even include the 1k to get it here...

The truck has not a single bid yet, starting at $3000 and a $3900 Buy it Now. The truck may not get any bids would be worth watching and maybe sending an offer, just a thought, you could part that truck and have a free GV Overdrive. I think the truck could get transported for $500-600 also.

Certainly a possibility. But purchasing something like this sight unseen is a gamble at best. Anyway thanks for the idea.
