I've read several intercooler threads recently about intercoolers and was wondering how possible an intercooler is on a van? I've heard that space is a problem but I'm not entirely sure how. Are there ways to create more space or are we talking alot of work to accomodate an intercooler on to a van?

The latest gen E-series vans with the 6.0 have the IC in them. they are a little smaller than the pickup version. Problem is, your gen van doesn't have a whole lot of space in the nose area. Good thing is that you prolly can get in a Vanner IC with alot of work. The major dimensions of the engine cavity on both gens are the same.

will I have to reposition the grille or something similar to that in order to get it to fit?

I don't think I would like to try getting a cooler in my '86 - no room.

I have a Hypermax turbo, their cool air hood intake, and propane and that is plenty for me (-:

Propane injected into the air inlet stream will cause a increase in horsepower. Do a internet on propane injection for diesel engines and you will get lots to read.
