So I finished mine about 4 weeks ago. 1990 7.3 banks kit 3 core aluminum champion radiator with trans cooler, built E4od, 6.0 trans cooler no ac at this time. (It’s on its way). I tow and haul every day in the southern califonia high desert. Hauling 3k in the bed happens weekly. Hauling 10.5k of horse/stock trailers happens almost every day. We live at 4000’ and tow into the 8000’ mountains pretty often with temps well over 100. Today it was 95. Hottest day of the year so far. I forget the exact measurements but the intercooler is the width of the radiator 24” or so? by about 12” tall and 3” deep. Sits at the bottom of the radiator. I went with the 2.5” inlet/outlets and tubing. Today I easily saw 300deg drop in egts, motor running 185 and more power. I’m easy on the throttle so I don’t notice any lag at all. Best think I’ve done.

Mine idles @ 185-190.
You running a statt?

I'd love 300 degrees off the top of the now 1200 degrees, @ 10.5 ish # of boost.
It wouldn't hit 1150 before.
Only change is the 80-90 pump.
So I'm going to get to 15 psi, delete the muffler and outsource the fmic of the day...
Thanx and y'all keep it coming.

So long as you have the square radiator (not the 16:9 movie screen shape) any 99+ Ford or 94+ dodge intercooler should reach around just fine.

I have CDD's intercooler kit, and I typically only ever use my truck when its fully loaded. Car doly, loaded camper, ect.
Zf5
1996 f150 AC condenser installed
3 row champion
Aarons 6.0 fan clutch and fan kit
90cc pump
R&D stage 1 injectors

Days like today, 90f out, if I was pulling hills I would have to back out of it, usually 4th and 45mph to keep my egts below 1000f and turn the ac off. I'm sure it would perform better if I put foam around the fan shroud so there wasn't an air gap, I also probably should check/adjust the timing on my rig....

I should also add I easily hit 228 with a 180 stat unless I let up. Again... Timing, probably.

Yes running a 180 t-stat. It’s the 3 core aluminum radiator that keeps it cool. I’ll hit 210 if it’s really hot out like 120deg and I’m pulling a long hill towing.

Forgot to mention I run right at 12psi max and egts are 800 max today. I’d stop long before I ever got to 1200. Also I never drive over 55. These trucks were not made for speed.

Will inter coolers fit in teh bullnose style trucks. I remember reading it took a lot more fabricating than newer trucks. I've got a banks turbo kit that I plan on installing on my white 86 as soon as I've worked the bugs out. Intercooler would be cool (pun intended), but I like the look of the stock grill too.

I have a 6.0 trans cooler, 2 14” fans, 6x10 power steering cooler and the intercooler. I have room for a big ac condenser as well. Ac is on its way. All in my 1990. Plenty of room.

Now to answer your question. You have the basic understanding. Yes they will fit in a Bull Nose. Yes it takes extra work. Some people remove the A/C condensor. My plan with my '85 is to move the radiator and condensor back. I've seen it said that it only needs to move about an inch.
