Interesting on the ground effects. And the suburban was just built that way, I wasnt trying for low rpm torque tall gearing mpg. If I was, I would have used a turbo 6.2.

Here is a NEW Twist: I am switching to a correct Th400/4L80 UNDER DRIVE and rebuilding my 3.43 rear end to a 2.56 Possi. I now believe way no one ever saids they got great MPG is because of the gear drag in over...and that running the tall gears straight will give the best MPG and for city or mountain climb shifting into under drive which gives 3.20 ratio where I do not expect MPG in city and hill climbing makes great sense.
