I got this turbo with the truck when I bought it. The guy told me he took it off another 7.3, but never got around to putting it on. The turbo has play, and if you look close, you can see it was just starting to make contact with the housing. I got a few questions.

1.) I'm not sure what make it is (my guess is an aftermarket ATS).
2.) is actually for a 7.3IDI?
3.) Obviously, it's missing the airbox, but can anyone tell me what else is missing that would keep me from using this.
4.) Pending answers to no. 3, is it worth putting the money into this one when, or just try to get some $$ money for it and look for a more complete system?

Thanks for any input...

Just guessing here but... An ATS factory wastegated turbo with an air ration of .70. Another wag is this is the second turbo that ford installed on the 93 1.2 idi turbo motor...

Thanks for the info. Is it worth it to rebuild this, or should I chase down a Banks system? I know of one that can be had for $900 .

That is an ATS093, can't tell if it's the factory version or the ATS version in the pics, if the turbine outlet is 3"ID it's the ATS version, if it's 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 it's the factory version. I would contact Russ and ask him on the cost of a rebuild. That turbo has been modified, there should be a fitting bolted to the top to accept the oil line and the oil pressure sender, and the line to the wastegate actuator is not stock on it. But that all said I'm happy with my 093, unless the Banks that you're looking at is wastegated the ATS will preform better on an unloaded truck, a nonwastegated turbo will lagg.

By all means get it rebuilt and run it ;Sweet I would anyway :D Cost wise it should be cheaper getting a rebuild vs. $900 for a used banks kit.

Performance wise I think it would be splitting hairs between the two assuming the Banks kit is wastegated.
