Okay so I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to think about exhaust systems for the truck. Was thinking I might go with true dual exhaust, just until I get the turbo on which might be another year. I have a dual exhaust system that I had made for my 79 f 250 it's 2-1/4" pipe which was fine for the 351M but will it be enough flow on the diesel. I could just as soon make something 3 inch but this I already have and it is very nicely made. It would only require a little bit of modification to put on the truck, I just dr onto know if it will move enough air... What do you guys think in idi land?

I would think that would be big enough. I don't know if actuality is the same, but wouldn't that be equal to a 4.5 single?

Pi Rsquared for 2.25 =3.9759609375 inches square x 2=7.951921875 square inches
Single 3"=7.068375 square inches so just slightly less than 2 x 2.25 inch duals
Single 4"=15.90384375 square inches so nope 2 x 2.25 does not equal a single 4.5 inch pipe...

Math dont lie

Single aftermarket 4" setup would be way lots and be way lots when uou get turbo.

Nope, it doesn't.
Well diamond eye has good price for 4 inch kit on the obs powerstroke. It's mostly the same except the downpipe.

I'm not gonna get into making a y-pipe.. It's only gonna stay on till the turbo is on, then I'll yank it all for a 4" single exhaust.. Maybe I'll just stick this on and see how it works, wish it was bigger tubing but atleast it don't cost me anythung...

It's plenty big. I think that's what factory size was and it was just a single. I have a complete factory NA exhaust laying out in the yard. If I think of it I'll measure.
